Tire grinding

Since i had new tires (Grabber AT3) put on my rims, the front wheel tires are grinding and getting caught on the sharp edge of the front bumper/wheel case, whenever i turn (especially slow steep parking maneuvers: u can hear the bumper almost getting ripped).
How is this possible? For 10.000 miles with Grabber GTs this hasn’t happened. Can it be because of the all-terrain thread? And it was like this all the time?
Can it really come from a defective load leveling system?!
It used to work fine before, the sensor/hook is still attached, but i haven’t heard the compressor moaning as regularly as it used to if i can recall.
Maybe somebody has an idea? Thanks!

Cut the corner off the bumper and then figure out if something is wrong with your load leveling system.

Tires of the same size, aren’t. Do you have load leveling up front?

Like mentioned I’d zip the corner of that bumper right off.

Yes of course, same stock tire dimensions.
No just the stock leveling for the rear. Thought it might be acting up, so there’s more load getting on the front suspension, just wild guessing.

I wasn’t asking if they were the same size, I was saying because two tires are the same “size” doesn’t mean their outside diameter is the same. Very doubtful the rear air ride is affecting the front ride height.

Now I may be getting what you mean… i always thought a 255/70-16 tire would always have the same diameter, regardless the thread pattern?! Especially if it’s one of the recommended for your car. Never bothered to measure… now the old tires are gone.
And i mean, has this never happened to anyone before? I cant believe that the Ford Dealer would just cut away something from your car, if you decided to choose all terrain tires?
But thanks anyways.

If you buy 5 different 235/75-15s they would all measure out differently. The tire sizes are like clothing sizes.

Tire sizes are like MBrooks says. Especially with the AT and MT types. My experience with 35" tires:
Goodyear Wrangler MT and AT was close to 35", BFG KM2 about 34", Maxxis Razr's are about 36". Tread widths vary as well. With 12.5" width, the Goodyears were about 10", the BFG was 9.5", Maxxis is 11.5".

Technically the Ford dealer shouldn’t put an all terrain tire on a 2nd Gen, it should only mount P radials.
