I recently needed my Explorer to haul a load of firewood in the back. I decided the tire pressure needed to be more than the 30psi recommendation. I increased all 4 to 33psi and found the vehicle to be much easier to drive and handle. The steering was not as heavy.
Having said (typed) that, I have a theory or maybe a strong belief that if there is a possibility that my Canada made Wilderness P235R15's could fail due to low tire pressure I would like to be in some control of that destiny. If I increase the pressure to the range the tires were design the tires will fair much better under long driving conditions and reduce the heat buildup. I may be kidding myself, but it makes me feel much better that the tires are not destroying themselves just from driving on them. I also feel that if I have to make a maneuver to avoid something or someone, I am in control of that destiny. But if a tire fails without warning. Well, like I said, I may be kidding myself but it seems the higher perssure makes for an easier driving vehicle.
Has anyone heard if they expanded the Wilderness AT recall to include all 15 inch no matter where they were built?

Increasing the psi to that level won't hurt nothing....in fact many people here run at 35 just about always. As for the tires....go to firestone and B#$%# enough and I'm sure they'll fix them. Heck I replaced mine about a year ago and all I need to do is prove that I had Firestones and they'll pay for the tires......can I buy yours????
