Well it looks like we are going to have another rough winter here in CT. I was wondering for driving through the snow if it would be better to increase the tire pressure in my tires or decrease them. I am looking for better traction and am not worried about mpg's or ride quality.

If its on road... higher psi. You want the tires to cut through the snow and bite the pavement. A tall, AT tire with a smaller section width will be the best in the snow. a 33x12.50 will do good off road in like, 20" of snow b/c it'll float but floating on the snow onroad = bad. Thats why most snow plowing trucks run a 235/85R16 which is a 32x9.25

I currently have Bfg all terrain tires. They are 31x10.5 and are set at 34psi. Yes this will be for on the road.

Never Change

The only time a mess with adjusting tire pressure is when going onto sand at the beach. Here in PA, and especially up north, I've gone through 12"+ snow with the same tire pressure I use for the road.

Hope this helps!:)

I hear ya man....I hate winters in the 'burgh. I also heard that Allegheny county has 18 less plows on the road than last year which means for a BAD parkway commute lol. Where at in PGH do you live?
