hey guys, whats up. i know i have read a lot of other threads, but i just need some quick clarification. i have a 95 ex sport, and i want to get pro comp mud terrains. 31 1050 15. now, i read the chart and all, but will there be any rubbing at all like off roading and mudding? what about just my turning radius, will that be affected by rubbing? i am not gonna do anything too hard core like climb a mountain, but i was just curious. and where do you reccomend i trim at if i need it. and also with my 95 and with 31's, how will my speed and power change? will my speedometer change, ? thanks a lot.

T Stud... when I first added 31's to my '96 they rubbed on the top of the inner fender wells. If you want to be 100% stock and 100% rub free... I'd go with 30s. Unless you want to adjust your torsion bars. Than the 31s will fit great (for sure) and plus you'll get a little lift out of it. Also, your speedo will be off by 5 or 6 mph at 60mph. No biggie!

99% of the time 31s will rub a stock explorer at some point, especially if flexing out offroad...

Your turning radius will only be affected if the tires are rubbing when the wheels are turned to the maximum extent. That is unlikely with a 31x10.5. Your spedometer and oddometer readings will be lower by a facter or the stock tire diameter diveded by 31, probably 2 to 5%.

so if i do go with the 31s, i just cut where the rubbing occurs, right. and i dont think there should be too much flexing ya know, i mean prolly just some trails that arent that bad. do you think that the 31s are a good choice stock. thanks again,

Better to plan ahead. Cuz... you know... once you get your truck off pavement, you'll be addicted and want to do more and more and pretty soon, you'll be an Idiot Stocker just like me!!!
