Tire Repair

Well it was bound to happen sooner or later. Last week when I was out 4 wheelin I punctured my sidewall. It is reparable with a path on the inside but on the outside I have a ¾ inch slash. I have read about people curing rubber to fill-in small hole like this. Is this something that a tire company can do or is there some sort of kit that I can buy to fill in this small slash. B.T.W. the slash is only superficial. It does not go all the way through the tire. I would just feel more secure knowing that it is filled in with something.

I don't now if this is relevant or not, but..I just had some body work don e to the front of the Mrs. car( she wrecked it, don't ya know), anyway, they fixed the front bumper cover using an epoxy that 'welds' plastic. Since the wound on your tire is superficial, maybe this could work?

Hi Goober,
You wouldn't by any chance know what that stuff is called, would you? I also have a small gash in one of my tires, compliments of "Steel Bender" in Moab, and would like to put something on it to mend it.
