If the rubber on the tires is smooth everywhere, with no cracks, no signs of age, no fading, no discoloration, and the tires smell like fresh rubber, they were likely just stored in a warehouse and are fine for use. If they smell bad or if the rubber looks dried out or theres any hint they were not stored properly, just take them back.
If you want performance tires that will be ok and a good deal, they'll probably be fine.
If you want long-lasting high mileage tires for the next decade, you should buy brand new tires with a manufacturer's warranty and not focus just on the initial price.
