I use my Xplorer every weekend at the Dragstrip! That and I drive it to work everyday.....I absolutley incinerate tires....I just wasted my last rear tires in 5 weeks....So I am Now contemplating Car tires.....My plan is to run Futura Super Sport tires 215/65/15 on the front and 265/50/15 on the rear....I havea 99 Sport 2wd.....Any idea what this will do to my speedo? or What the downfall of a short Car tire on my explorer? let me know thanx.....I really do need hte 265 for traction!

265 = 25" tall tire
215 = 26" tall tire

One, your speedo will be going extremely quick/fast - that's good and bad ;)

The only thing to worry about car tires is weight rating...cars are a lot lighter than SUVs/Trucks - so read up on your tire first :thumbsup:

What do u mean My speedo will be going quick fast? Are u saying....That it will throw my speedometer way out of whack...that I will have no idea how fast I will be going? = P

the taller tire on the front is for more roll out room at the staging lite.... I can account for the high tier in the front by lowering my torsion bar...No real big deal there!

its a damn explorer not a race car.

your speedo will be fast; meaning when it says your going 85 your really only doing like 75

wepl I did it....I got them today.... I actually got 215/65/15 for the front tires, and 275/60/15 for the rear.....my speedo is correct and it works really good....but I am still spinning the tires.... So I may just break down and by a Mickey T Street ET for the trac....but the big tires definetly look badass!

How do you know if your speedo is correct?

EDIT: Any issues with your ABS - running different sized tires

well I went down the road with a friend in his explorer....and we drove side by side with cruise control on at 70 mph....and we were dead tight...with neither one pulling....so Yeah it didnt affect it....and No....I have no problems with my ABS either......I did put a good 100 miles on them tonite no problems as of yet....i will keep u posted If I encur any problems!
