tire size

Hey every body!
It has been a long time: I have a 99 X 2 wheel drive and it has four 31x10x50R15 and I have 4 16x7 factory rims and I was thinking to get some 255/70/16 will it work or do I need a different tire.

255/70/16 = 30x10/16

Is going down an inch what you were looking to do?

Well I have 15" wheels with four 31x10x50R15 and the ride is hard and the tires are loud "good for winter", I just want to use the 16" rims I got with some touring tires. I was looking at an edie bower and it had some 255/70/16 may be i can get the same tires.
