so here is another tire size question. I want to go bigger, of course, i have taken off the end cap from the inside of the fender well and I will body lift as little or as much as i need so clearance will not be a problem. the problem is, and maybe it is not a problem, i want to keep my 15 x 7 eagle alloys. Somewhere on this site I read (of course i didnt copy it or note who wrote it) that somebody has seen 33 x 12.5 on a 15 x 7 rim before. Is this true? Is it safe? i have 31 x 1050 now and they are fine but you know how it is. If i have to hock my wheels and get some 15 x 8 i will. It seems like ExplorerGm is selling tires and wheels with 32 x 1150 on a 16 x 7 rim. i can even live with a 32 but im not sure if the smaller diameter affects the width or not. So what do you guys think? can i fit a 33 x 12.5 on a 15 x 7 rim or not? what about a 32 x 1150? and what would be the cons, other than clearance issues?

P.S. the reason im asking is that my friend is going to give me a deal on some 33 x 1250 BFG ATs and my wife wont let me justify buying new wheels again. so if i sounds like im desperatly dreaming....I am.

thanks in advance,
gabe simpson

it is possible.. i however wouldnt do it... as a rule, generally, you want to stay within about a 3"-4" realm of difference with tires and rims..... like a 31x10.5x15 is fine on my 15x7s... but if you put 33x12.5x15 on that same rim it is 5.5 inches bigger and will give a major >< look.... if you put smaller tires on a larger rim you will get a <> look....
