i think ex's look good with 17's, but i want bigger.

i don't think i want 20's because i've heard they ride like crap, so i'm considering 18's.

does anyone know what size 18" tire is the same height as the stock 235/75/15?

it seems that the general consensus on the balance between looks and performance versus ride is to go with 17's and 275/55/17's.

would the 18" tire that i would need to stay with a stock hieght wheel/tire combo really offer much worse of a ride?

i'd like to go with 18's but not if they're going to make my ride as harsh as 20's.

i know all of my questions are based on other peoples opinions, just thought i'd start a thread for some healthy discussion on this topic.

It'd really about the suspension too. If you keep the ride stock height, then your fine with the 18s. If you lower it a little then the ride would be somewhat stiff and tight. I think Sidesipe is the man you want to talk to about 18s. As for tires, I would look into some of the tire makers website and look into the specs of tires, look for the overall diameter of the tire. I am sure yokohama, pirelli, and falken and have the 18s selection that would match and nearly match the stock diameter.

If you would like to keep the stock wheel/tire diameter with 18s, use a 255/55/18. The ride is not that harsh, and I've found Pirelli to be the best tires for all road/weather condition here in NYC.

xplor- it seems im the resident expert on 18s around here...heheh

20's

i have a 93 X lowered 2" and 20's and the ride isnt really bad i all depends on the tire combo that youre running. On mine i'm running a 255/50/20 and the ride is nice.

I have a 97 all wheel drive that is stock height with 18's on it. I am running 18x8 Konig wheels with 265/60/18 Falken S/TZ01. they are 30.7" tall and 10.6" wide. They really fill the wheel wells and ride awsome. The ting that kinda sucks aboud 18's is that finding a decent wearing tire is not to easy. But my Falkens have a UTOG of 420 so do Toyo Proxies, another good idea for th 255/55/18 tires.

The wheels are Konig Flights 18x8 with a 40mm offset. Here are some pics.
