Hi guys i just got new tire to replace my firestone Wilderness At
255 70r16 with goodyear wranglers rts 255 ive noticed now that the steering is alot more touchy can any one tell me why? i've noticed that the goodyears are a little narrower. any help would be appreciated my explorer is a 98 4x4 sport stock automatic

I would have to say that the rubber is softer since it's new and gripping the road better.

Yeah, the rubber is probably different, plus you could have a more accurate amount of air pressure in your tires than you had in the Firestones. Plus, Firestones are just crappy tires.
