Well, I completed the install:
The drivers side went very easily, I did it myself in just a couple hours.
The passenger side was a <insert every known adjective known to mankind here> pain in the butt. :fire:
The first problem was the inside exhaust flange to manifold bolt. It was stuck, and getting to it required a 3 1/2 ' extension and working it in parallel with the tranny with a universal. Soaked the bolt with PB blaster. Finally got it out in just over an hour and a half.
The second problem was the EGR tube, that was a PITA. I tried getting it close and then bolting the EGR back up to get it to fit, but I just stripped the intake elbow. So now I had to carefully install the EGR then bend the tube just perfectly so I didn't mess with the EGR again since I got it mounted with just enough meat on the intake side to hold. (might be a future project to replace it but it works for now)
Tightening down the motor mount was the 3rd hassle, the front nut was no problem, but the rear one was just a pain, had to just use a shorty open end wrench, and tighten it down as best as possible. I could have removed the exhaust so I could have had more room to move the header around to get a socket in, but I chose not to do so. T
The passenger side is very tight, the headers actually touch the motor mount and the frame.
Once there in, they look awesome. Used the original wires with heat socks on the #2 wire, and also tyraped a heat sock around the high side of the AC line.
I was very fortuantle to have a friend who has a 3 car heated garage with every known tool that SnapOn makes. I could not have done it with what tools I have, and I do have alot.
I didn't take piks since V8boatbuilder had done a awesome write up, which I used for my install, especially when bending the EGR tube.
A BIG THANK YOU TO HIM!!!
