Hey Guys I am new to the forum but have a weird question.

When I bought the explorer it had a check engine light on and it was Idle over speed error so I was told to replace the sensor on top of my SOHC 4.0l engine ... so I did, still didnt fix the high idle or the fact that on startup the engine would rev to about 2500 rpm before slowly going down. I replaced multiple sensors with no luck. I took it to a mechanic he said it must be a crack in the plastic intake manifold. so ok checked no cracks.

So I had a leak in my trans cooler and when I was fixing that I unplugged my ISC and now the engine runs great no high idle nothing..

What do you guys make of this.

Already tried the cleaning even replaced.
