I have recently pulled my trusty old box (two ancient 10â€￾ Pioneer subs & 600 watt amp) out of my ’56 and installed it in the back of the Explorer.
Not ever really giving much thought to audio components, I have recently read a series of threads concerning porting enclosures. My question is- would porting this set-up have a beneficial effect on sound quality? In what circumstances is porting normally utilized?
Excuse my ignorance on the subject, as most of my time is spent cutting up vintage tin and rarely giving much though to audio components.
Thanks in advance,

pioneers do not like ports exspecially if they are the IMPP ones

porting your current enclosure could be a no-no, as ported enclosures have to be calculated.... ie a certain port for a certain box.... if you figure the cu ft and what you want it tuned to its figurable, but the results may not be favorable.
