to rebuild or not to rebuild

I have a 92 sport with 165k on the 4.0, and i dont think its putting forth the 155hp its supposed too. I would like to add some things to it like a super charger, new exhaust system, headers, etc. Should i have the engine rebuilt or swap it for a bigger engine(289, 302) without some of the extras when it dies. Which would be more cost effective.

Any comments would be helpful!

Welcome to the board!! You'll find plenty of info here on things you might wanna do to your X.

The nice thing about rebuilding your 4.0 and tacking on performnace goodies is that you don't have to do any modifications to fit the thing under the hood. A 4.0 with a S/C will pump out plenty of hp. Check out Alec's truck (Do a search on "Alec" or "Splat"). He went the supercharged route.
