It looks like the ABS pump will get in the way of the master
cylinder when it's pulled out from the brake booster.

Should the ABS unit be removed before the MC, or will it clear?

Thanks,
ROE

OK thanks, it just looked like the brake lines coming from
the unit would interfere with the master cylinder.

Nope. as stated, shouldnt have to touch it.

My thanks to both of you; I replaced the MC this afternoon
with no trouble at all. I did remove a plastic clip that was
holding the ABS brake lines together, and this allowed the
lines to be pushed out of the way.

In case this thread pops up in future searches, I'll mention
this; when bench-bleeding using the plug system, make
sure you keep bleeding until the plunger will no longer depress.
This takes awhile, but improper bench bleeding is probably the
biggest reason for getting air in the sytem.

And if anyone needs to know the pushrod length, it's the standard
Ford .985 inch, measured from the MC mounting flange on the
booster to the tip of the pushrod. (I believe this is true up to
2002 models.)

Can anyone tell me where the ABS pump motor is located on my 94 Ex? Thanks in advance.
