Wow that's pretty exciting! Let us know how it goes and pics afterwards. I'm assuming you're spraying it yourself?

yep gonna spray it myself, spent the past month or so getting advice and supplies now its time to get to work and get it done . I am not looking for a show truck just something that looks good and I will be happy. Gonna try to get as many pics as i can!

Mike

You're not too far from me either, I live in Noblesville.

Im probably alittle closer now to , Moved to greentown which is 8 miles from kokomo , Me and my dads shop is there

I am sure you know, but let me repeat, your truck CAN NOT be clean enough !!!!!!!!!
Even the sills and jambs. Remember when you spray, the air from the gun will blow dirt out from where ever it is hiding.

Good luck man, I am sure you'll love doing this project.

How did it go? How much did everything cost you if you don't mind? What kind of paint?
Pics?

hey guys sory havent updated this post in awhile , I am ready to paint the truck now thank god ! lol This whole project not including the spraying part yet took about 2 weeks of working before and after hours at my fathers shop. all in all it cost about 600 dollars for everything but thats a rough estimate, the paint was like 250.00 for everything , dog leg was around 40.00 and all the filler and primer and sand paper and little things, ( new fender flares and driving lights) adds up quick. I hope to have some pics of the finished truck when im all done. This isnt gonna be a perfect job or anything cause i have never done body work before but im happy with it :D sorry for being so long !

Mike

Hope it turns out great!

I am in Westfield, In guys.

OK heres an update ,Friday night im gonna start spraying got all the sanding done and got it tarped up for a week to keep it somewhat dust free. Hard to do in a transmission shop !

Dark dark green , almost looks black in the can. Its the same kinda paint they put on semis and trucks so I hope it stands up well to the elements.

hey paint experts should I use fish eye eliminator with my paint? I am using acrylic enamel and what does this do? :D

Its Done ! :D

Got my truck painted up this morning now she is just drying for the nex few days then i can put everything back on it . 3 weeks worth of work finally paid off ! I hope to have pics up after its all back together .

this should be cool to see a beginner doing his own paint job.....cant wait to see it!

Its not a perfect show room finish thats for sure , But im happy with it and thats what counts lol It has alittle dust in it in spots but i painted it in a transmission shop so dust is hard control.
