Urban legend... heard that one before - there was this guy driving a big delivery truck (old days, gasoline truck, huge tank on a side just like big rigs today) no gas gauge back then and he wanted to check how much gas he had to make sure he could make it back to his shop... he checked it with a match... he never made it to his shop.
