Hello all! I took the good ol Explorer to the track tonight since all my mustang buddies were going, and I ended up running consistent 17's, and a best of 17.16 1/4 mile, with a 2.3 60 Foot and a lovely 76 MPH !!

Anyways, just thought Id share that with you all, since this will be the baseline before I starting heavily modifying the truck.

Please post your times if youve been to the track ... :D

That time's not bad at all for a four door OHV. Congrats.

Thxs, the next round of mods will include a 125 Shot (Wet), Apten Chip, Throttle Body, and a Cold Air Intake. Hopefully with these mods Ill be in the 15's ...

If you have the nitrous set up properly you may get into the high 15s. Without the nitrous you don't have a chance below mid 16s ;)

Glad you had fun!

Do you think changing from a K&N to a KKM will make much of a diffrence ....

no

Ok, just wanted to make sure since Im going to get a K&N tommorow since they are readily available.

As for the spray, do you think my engine can hold a 125 shot ???

your ohv is pretty tough, but i dont think i would feel comfortable running a 125 shot on the stock short block. i would bet that it is possible, but you will need some serious dyno tuning. a 100 shot is considered kinda safe but pushing it on a stock 4liter ohv.

I've never seen the times for a OHV, but i would have thought it would have been a little better. I had a 92 S-10 2wd with a 4.3 that ran 15s at 84 MPH.

But i'm anxious to see your next times with the mods, should be cool!

Yup, I have decided to start with a 75 Shot then work to the 100 ... Ill keep you all posted on the times I run as I will be visiting the track often.
