1. Are sealed power rocker arm decent?
2. Also, I like that metal felpro lower intake gasket, would I simply need a bead of rtv on the middle part since there wont be any material between the intake and the block.
3. Ford head gasket kit is $223 as opposed to $85 Ford head gaskets + $68 felpro valve covers + lower int, I'd probably go that latter route.
4. Anything else I am missing?

Parts:
head x2 kingcyl $500 (93tm's fully assembled)
push rods x12 smith brothers $100 (should have gone with rock auto sealed power?)
injector rockauto $67.79 (missing cap on one, I've changed all of them a couple of years ago)
pulley x2 rockauto $30
1 long exhaust bolt w701868s300 $15
1 short exhaust bolt n806171s2 $7
rocker arm x12 rockauto $158.28 or ford 6564 $396(!)
rocker arm roll pin no longer made by ford (can find at a parts store?)

exhaust manifold gaskets rockauto $5
low. int. manf. gasket rockauto $26.79 (incl. upper)
valve covers rockauto $23.79 (incl. upper)
OR
valve covers
+ low. manf. gasket rockauto (FelPro MS98005T) $67.99 (metal lower, incl. upper)

head gasket x2 ford 6051 $85.84
head gasket kit ford 6079 $223.71 (head, valve cover, up.+ low. int. man.+ valve seals)
head bolts ford 6516 $4.74 x16 = $81.61 w/ tax or rockauto $57
alternator ford reman 10V346 (GLV 8048 RM) $147.70

or ford new 10346 (GL-308-RM) $224.33
oil
coolant
pcv valve (can change later)

click the link in my sig, 'OHV rebuild'. i have part numbers listed for everything.

parts: valves, valve springs, heads, pushrods, thermostat, injectors, pcv, head bolts

for the gaskets: heads, lower intake, fuel rail, upper intake, valve covers(NOT CORK!!), thermostat(if not included with new thermostat), throttle body and iac.

i would get the matched set of injectors i have on ebay also. only $100 for all 6. (if the link is dead in my build thread ill get you the sellers page)

there is no reason to save the valves or pushrods, get better new ones.
but for the lifters, they are very pricey so get them if you want. but if you want to try your old ones, do NOT mix them up from where they came out of the block. theres a way to clean them, worst case have to buy a few new ones

Great build thread! (http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=302553)
I bought my heads fully assembled from king cylinders, was that a mistake?
Will check the lifters as I'm cleaning up the block. Thanks for the reminder.
Also, I found out through your thread that Ford sources fully assembled rocker shafts, I may do that as opposed to buy individual rocker arms.

no complete heads are fine. just the valves i got are darn good. less work for you, and its fine if you stay stock. may i ask what heads? 90tm/93tm, 95tm, 98tm?
the lifters are a major PITA. i got a set from the junkyard to play with, and i only got 2 to completely come apart, the other 10 were so damn stuck. but they were experiments, so i just threw em away after i had my fun.
i dont remember anything about fully assembled shafts. the shafts, springs and mounts shouldnt be worn at all. $150 for new rockers and they arent hard to take apart to replace.

I got a set of 93tm's for a stock build. I was just planning on inspecting the lifters to see if any of them was scored and such.
I read a post that mentioned something about Tousley Ford offering the rocker arm shafts assembled for $85 each, it got me confused since they sell the rocker arms for $33.
I would just rather have Ford parts on the car wherever it makes sense.
Thanks for the injectors' link, I had replaced all of them a couple of years ago and I thought they were close to $100 a piece. $100 for all 6 seems cheap but it's an easy part to replace or at least it was for me.

Edit: Tousley has rocker arms for $23 each, 85 buy the shaft only. I'm not sure where anime saw they sold the whole thing assembled for 85. Their prices seem pretty good though, will compare with rock auto.
