torque converter failing and electronic shift modifier
hi, i think the torque converter is getting tired in my 97 w/ the 4r70w @ 150k miles w/ 4406 swap
the tranny feels "soft" under all conditions and all gears (compaired to other rwd autos, 4l60e, dodge 1/2ton tranny, other 4r70w and 4r75w) but i want some one to discribe the feeling of a failing converter to me.
the conveter locks up a tad slow under WOT, other then that its normal
the tranny fluid is @ the correct level when warmed up
when you turn the drive shaft by hand, the transmission makes a little whine/squeel (transmission in Nutral and rear end up in the air)
if it is bad i'm debating on waiting for more money to swap in a M5R2 tokyo or pull the tranny and put in an HD converter (maybe higher stall)
I also was wondering about plug and play "shift computers" like this one from summit racing: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BMM-70381/
