Automatic
4x4
I bought this 6 months ago with it needing a little bit of work. I got the 4WD to work by replacing a speed sensor on the transfer case. I can now engage 4WD Hi on the fly.
One thing that I have noticed is the steering seems to be very touchy especially anything over 35mph. I hit a bump, and the steering wheel likes to wander. When I let off the throttle (in 2WD mode), I can hear the transfer case "whirl". It's more faint than if I was in 4WD Hi/Lo, but I can still hear it.
Does this sound like the transfer case is stuck in 4WD Hi? My gas mileage doesn't change whether I'm in 4WD Hi or 2WD.
Also, I'm getting a clunk when coming to a stop or going into reverse. I suspect a bad u-joint but I would entertain opinions.
