Front tow hooks

Hi,
I am from Dubai, UAE. We do a ltta off road dune driving in this side of the world. We are only left with the V6 Explorer here , no V8.

The best SUV's on the desert are Wrangler, Toyota land Cruiser, Toyota Prado.
The Explorer since it has independant suspension have limited suspention travel so it takes a bit more skill to drive it in the desert.
Even the traction control and ABS works with the trac OFF. I think its the anti roll sensor working in extreme conditions.
I was surprised to notice there is no front tow hooks on the explorers. The Mercury Mountaineer with the same chassis has a hook.
I bought one from the Mountaneer and got it installed.
The sad part is that is on the front chassis cross beam.

Being an SUV its mandatory to have hooks on or at bumper level.

The prevoius model had two hooks in front.

I guess they left that out.

Jesiali - do you have any pics of your tow hook installation?
