Tow package

I have a 2006 4.0 xlt. I have the factory hitch which I believe all explorers come with and I was wondering if that means I have tranny coolers etc.. I am trying to locate where they are to make sure that I have one. I see lines but nothing that looks like a mini radiator on the tranny. I want to ame surei have everything nesessry to tow. I believe all explorers come ready to tow from the factory but I want to make sure.

the tranny cooler is probly built into the radiator, if the cooler is indeed there.
look under the radiator cap on the side of the rad facing the engine bay, are there two metal lines going into it? if so, thats the tranny cooler.

Awsome yah i have those two lines. I just wanted to make sure becuase on my friend 03 v8 he has a little radiator looking thing stuck on his tranny. I guess the 4.0 v6 is just a different design.

If the factory receiver hitch has a 2" opening, it should have a towing package with 3.73 gears and tranny cooler. If it is a 1" opening, more than likely it does not have a tranny cooler.

Get a copy of the original window sticker and see if the Towing Package was one of the options on your truck.
