towing my boat with my EX.??

i just picked up a brand new 18 foot speedboat. im getting the class 3 hitch installed in the morning. total weight with trailer is about 3000lb .

anything i should do or lookout for when towing it with my explorer?
its a 98 4x4 with 4.0l OHC 110k miles on it. runs great no tranny problems.

should i keep the over drive off when towing as well?

from what i think i know, you should keep the overdrive off. i do not know any others things your should look out for.

Yes, Overdrive off.

Auxillary tranny cooler!

If you don't have one, get one.

If you only have one auxillary, get a second one.

Then get and auxillary filter with temp sensor.

Depending on the tounge weight you may want to look into a set of Helwig Adjustable Helpers also. Most boat trailers are balanced pretty good though. If your interested PM me, I have a set I used to use on my '99 XLT.
