Used my new ride to take the bikes out to the black hills in SD recently......
The motor seemed to do the job quite nice...the 4.6 3v had plenty of power...but the mileage suffered
Over the 800 miles put on I averaged 8.5 mpgs.......I thought this truck would do a little better than that....

8.5 MPG - wow. I have only towed around town with mine, no long trips. Might have to reconsider things! An F150 Ecoboost is sounding a little better!

8.5!?!?! YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!! Nice looking Rig tho. :D

Was the Adrenalin even offered with the tow package? You may be under geared. A tranny cooler will always help.

V8s had a tow package standard. I've had similar experiences with a 1,000 pound trailer and a 1,100 pound UTV. The biggest killer--although you don't have it as bad--is aerodynamics.

Not all v8 around here have tow packages.. I just bought mine last month and it was hard to get one with a tow package

Mine does as well, but it took me over 8 months to find the right one with the tow package ( I need it )most v8's around here have the class 2 hitch (no cooler, wiring, and the smaller receiver)

8.5 does suck, I got 10 mpg pulling my bike and a friends bike up the the north GA mountains, about 550 miles round trip...the only difference is our bikes are prob half the weight as yours!

Ya 750 each compared to yours which are around 400-450 each.......told the wife next time we're riding....I like 42mpg better than 8.5mpg.....lol

Wow, how much weight do you think those bikes and trailer are? I tow my Mustang and car trailer around (about 5500 total) and usually on a long trip on interstate I see around 11 mpg. Did you have Overdrive button Off ?

Towed my 1978 Greenwood corvette to carlisle 2 weeks ago and thought you guys would appreciate this pic !! About 14 MPG but did it in style !!

you have close to 2000 lbs in bikes, if the trailer is steel vs aluminum, then another 700 or so, if aluminum, maybe 500 lbs. If you ran the AC while cruising at 70mph, well, not gonna get good mpg's. I had an 2000 F150 Lariat 5.4 4x4 with a enclosed 5x12 that was 6' tall inside, and got 10 mpg (no ac) with the F150 at 65mph towing a RK. Best I could do with the big sail (front of the trailer) back there. Just the price you pay for having toys.
