TPMS 2005 Explorer

Do I have to go to the dealer to replace and reprogram a TPMS on a 2005 Explorer. I work in a non-Ford dealer, where I can have the sensor replaced, but can we program it?

You can train them with a strong magnet like one that is in the transmission pan that traps metal debris. There is a procedure to get them into training mode though through a sequence of key cycles and brake inputs.
