I was goin to buyy a new tps today, but i'm not sure if the fact that i swappedd my automatic for a 5 spd would make a diffrence on which tps to buy. If so I'm stumped because they never made 95's with a 5 spd. i was thinkin of maybe using one from a 94 5 spd?

Why do you think you need a new TPS? Because of the engine problems you are having?

Have you tested your TPS yet?

there is no difference in a TPS form a stick or auto, same sensor.

The TPS does not seem like culprit to the problem you are having to me.

You do realize that when you swap transmissions from auto to 5 speed or vise versa there are wiring vchanges you need to make? Also the computer must change.

Now without these changes it is possible that your truck will not run right.

You posted saying the computer is not the problem, please tell me how you are sure of that.

Dont go throwing $$$ at it, its not going to help.

You have an accurate handle!

you will have to swap PCMs too

If you swap your auto trans for a manual out of a 94 Explorer, you will have to also replace the computer, or it won't run right as was said.

Your 95 is OBD II, and has the computer for the electronic transmission, the 4R55E.

The 94 5-speeds are OBD I, and have the computer for the MECHANICAL transmission, the Mitsu or Mazda 5-spd.

Bruce, I never said I dont throw maney at myt truck when it acts up!!! hahaha

Besides I cant do anything about my last name :)

the problems that you are having did they start at the same time as you swapped the 5spd in or did the come after you had gotten the 5spd running right

well basicly this problem happened after i did the swap but not right after, so i can't really pinpoint it. as for the computer, it was from a 94 with a 5 spd... when i plugged it in only two of my injectors would work, so i plugged it in to my friends 94 and his ran fine... as for pcm honestly i'm not sure what it does, and i also don't know about obd I and obd II... the reason i was gonna do the tps was because i did a lot of research and it sounds like lots of people had similar problems and the tps fixed it so i figured it wouldn't hurt to put a new one in... but as for that other stuff i'm just retarded and don't know what they do, lol

boy i wish i woulda known this was goin to be so fustrating b4 i did it, lol

thnx for all the help guys

with the computer i think that you need a 95 5spd computer because there were many changes from 94-95

unfortunately i don't believe there is such thing

i would contack brian from apten he should be able to help you out

Yes, there is. My 95 is a 5 spd

Rhett, 95's (at least mine) are OBD I. Its has the OBD II diagnostic jack but it doesn't work.

update, i hit a good size puddle today, and it recreated the same problem i am having...

starting to sound like a short somewhere... would make sense of the sporadic missing
