Hey guys,
I blew a bearing out of the front drivers side rotor today. Inside bearing crushed and the inside of the bearing is frozen to the bearing race. Any ideas on how to free it up?

Wrap the race with a rag, smack it HARD with a cold chisel...MAKE SURE you wrap it with a rag, it is hardened steel, when it breaks, it will shatter..

Mike,
You want me to break the bearing case or the race on the axle?

Danny - be sure to check your bearings before going larger! :)

Break the race off of the spindle. You can replace the rotor and bearing cheaply, but not the axle end. Hopefully you haven't toasted the spindle too.

Chances are you've toasted the spindle if the bearing is that bad. Becareful when you split that bearing.

Well guys - I lucked out. I whacked the bearing race with a cold chisel and it came loose. No damage to the axle shaft...

Time for re-assembly and thanks for all of your help!
