tranny blew again

put my truck back in the shop today, thankfully its under warranty. my tranny sprung a leak sorta. every time i made a left turn it would drop outta gear, and overdrive wouldnt engage. also my torque converter wouldnt lock up. oh well, it back in the shop and it looks like ill be ridin my bike around for a while. just outta curiosity how much did yall pay fro your rebuilds? i know about 90 percent of the members here have had there weeny autos rebuilt. also what kinda warranty did ya get?

I went to the ford house and got a factory replacement unit...not a dealer rebuild (the factory replacement is supposed to last longer) it was $2,700 or so and has a 2 year 24,000 mile warentee.

that really sucks.

i'm glad i didnt buy the explorer with the auto when i was car shopping. my explorer has almost 160K miles on it and my manual trans hasnt given me any problems.

well, the first tranny held up really well, it went for 309k miles before it bit the dust

that's cool that your truck is so reliable. over 300K
