If i have the trailer package on my explorer, does this mean that i already have a tranny cooler? I have been told that a tranny cooler is always good, so i looked into it. Then i got to thinkin, i heard that a trailer package already had it.

Also, does anyone where some good places to put a tranny temp gauge and maybe some other gauges would be? i like to know what is going on in my explorer, and guages always help...

put guages on the a pillar in a pod readily available from summit or the like made by autometer or similar companies....... well, go to your truck and look.... is there a mini radiator looking thing in front of your a/c condensor? if yes and one line goes to the radiator, then you have it.....

I think that the pod from Summit is the one by Autometer. If I remember correctly, I had to go to Autometer's website to get the proper part number so that I could find it on Summit's site. Mine pod is handy as I'd rather not have to look down at the console to look at the tranny temp. Since I dyed mine to match the interior, it get's compliments since people think that it was a stock option. If you want a temp guage, go ahead and buy an Autometer, unless you want a different look that they don't have. Mine is the SportComp series.

Take a look at this thread, Dead Link Removed it is about installing a tranny filter buy also addresses gauges and their mounts.

Good luck.....

yeah definetley go with the trans temp gauge
if you do alot of towing or hard throttle sprints,
you need to be able to monitor your trans temp
heat causes 95% of all transmission failure they say

i just need to get a little cash togethor, i am gunna get a 2 pod a-pilla set, with a tranny temp gauge. but i don't konw what to put in the other one.

What do you guys suggest, i would go witha single pod, but they just look funny...

I put a digital Voltmeter in my second slot.

Is that used to look to see how much the alternator is charging, or what? What volts does it meter? What is the difference between a voltmeter and the little battery gauge in the dash?
