tranny help asap

pulling tranny 93 4.0 explorer sport 5 speed i cant get the bell housing off the motor i took out the 8 bolts are there still more hiding i need it off tonight got the exhaust hindge that was on the tRANSFER case off and both drive shaftes as well as both beams the run sideways on the truck under the tranny what am i missing or is it just really stuck on

Make sure to remove the dip stick tube. It was bolted by one of the bell housing bolts, after that it slides out upwards. Check everything, there are a few wire connectors, a vacuum line, the speedometer cable, shift linkage. Just mentioning things you didn't in your post. There are also the 2 top bell housing bolts that are hard to get too. Use the tranny jack to support the tranny, but don't lift up on it. Too much pressure, and the main shaft/torque converter won't slide apart easily. I hope you either got it last night, or this helps...

its off but stuck under the truck on the exhaust so the bell housing is off but still stuck under

Everytime I've had to pull the trans from our X I've had to drop the exhaust. That was when it still had the stock a4ld or with the 700r4 (with adapters). It would just never quite fit.

I never pulled a manual trans, so I can't say if you have to do it there too or not.

I've pulled them from the heads and pulled them from the collector. Being an Az vehicle, it really wasn't easier to do one or the other (I have no inner fenderwells so I have direct access to the exhaust bolts at the head)

off topic: how cold is it up there in MN?
Down here is kinda warm today. Up around 20. Gonna have a hi of 3* on Fri.

I bought a forced air propane heater for the old garage and I still don't wanna go out there and work on anything
