Hello...I've had great advice on this forum so far and hoping for a little bit more...

Here are my problems...

I have a 2000 Ford Explorer Sport (4X4)

1.) I usually have a delay when I initially start the truck and put it in drive/reverse...delay is like 2 seconds then tranny kicks in...

2.) I occassionally seem to have a problem when driving at about 60Km (40miles)...and the truck does not seem to switch gears and RPM can easily go over 5000...but once I lift off the gas for a second, the RPM drop...the gear engages...and it resumes to drive fine...

Any advice? Hopefully on both?

A good start is to have the tranny flushed and new filter. sounds like could be low pressure, have you checked the fluid? smell the fluid you can smell a burnt smell if you have some burnt clutch packs. my tranny is a sealed unit and cant be checked. if yours is the same take it to a shop to have fluid topped up may just be low.

The 2002 5R55W is not sealed like they want you to believe. Check the sticky thread in the transmission section called the 5R55W fluid fill. The problem with the delayed shifting could be due to bad valve body gaskets, loose valve body bolts, clogged filter, sticky spools in the valve body or a failing EPC solenoid.
