tranny problem

i have a 94 eddie bauer edition, when u take off no matter hot or cold u have to put it in 2nd gear to take off (automatic) as soon as it starts moving u can put it in ovr drive & it will change through but if u ever stop u have to put in 2nd again to take off. reverse works fine. i was told it could be a sensor but tranny shops tell me need to be rebuilt. it dosen t have many miles & i dont think it needs to be rebuilt. has anyone ever had this problem before?

more than likely you will have to get the trans rebuilt,but if done at a good shop you will have no problems and a warranty if you do have any problems.

i just had the 4 wheel drive rebuilt less than a year ago & the tranny was fine. its not a everyday vehicle & it dont have very many miles on it. we only drive it when we need 4 wheel drive. which is not very often.
