Ok, i have a tranny question... just like everyone else, but mine is a little differnt. My explorer is slow to shift into reverse, but when it does it works fine. Also is slow to shift into drive, and shifts only when the engine is revved up pretty high. it does shift into all the gears though. Transmission fluid is right level, everything seems to be connected right. I was wondering about the vacum control module or what ever its called. Does it direct the shifting, and if so how would one determine it is faulty. I bought the transmission from a wrecked parts dealer... it was a rebuilt one from autozone with only 2,000 miles on it. any advice would be greatly appreciated.

There is a problem when you don't really know the history of the transmission. Normally this problem would be associated with the low/reverse servo leaking at this age and reducing pressure. If rebuilt, it should have new seals. Maybe someone never bolted up the filter properly. Vacuum modulator would have no effect on this problem
