91 XLT
Just a quick question. I had a dead short in my 91 XLT and i traced the wire to the transmission, unplugged the connector and no more short. What the heck did i just disconnect, everything seems to work fine, but its gotta be for somthing. It was linked to the EEC relay and all that good stuff, so it must be important, any ideas what it could be??? (it was a 3 wire plug). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Probably a short in either the TCC solenoid or the 3-4 shift solenoid. Without it you will not have OD, nor TCC lockup... I bet your RPM's at 60 MPH are 3000 plus.

I have also seen other threads with the same problem. Unfortunately, I think you have to teardown the tranny to fix the TCC.
