Tranny question

My 1997 5.0 has seemed to develop a tranny problem. When driving on the highway with the cruise control on I have noticed the rpm's will increase slightly as if the tranny is slipping and then come back to normal as it seems to "grab" again. It's getting more frequent. I have 200,000 miles on her and I'm wondering if there is a common problem or should I assume the band is slipping and it needs some work? The fluid looks good and red and I removed some and added a container of Lucas but it didn't seem to help. I know the 5r55e has adjustments where the bands can be tightened slightly, but I don't know if the 4r70w does. Is it possible to tighten that band slightly? Thanks for any advice anyone might give.....

Try a band adjustment first.

My A4LD was doing the same thing. I ended up replacing the valve body with a rebuilt lower mileage one and that fixed the issue. I believe a faulty solenoid was the root cause.
