Anyone have a step-by-step for how to change the trans. fluid on an "03" Explorer 2X2? I like the post about draining and refilling at the same rate, while the engine was running. I wasn't sure if I could do this on a stock vehicle of my year with a second person to help out of course. Thanks! :D

Yes you can, and that is probably not only the best for you, it will also be the easiest.

Which line should I disconnect to use for the fluid exchange?

well you have a 50/50 chance of getting the right one. Pick on and have someone watch as you start the engine... if the fluid is coming from the line, you win, if it is coming from the radiator side, swap lines. I'm not sure which one it is on the '03, but that is a foolproof method (grin). You can't screw it up...worst you can do is just to make a wrong guess and have to swap lines and clean up a small mess.

Dawns on me though, you don't have a dipstick tube to pour it down (DOH!), and the pump will not suck it back in the return line.... how do you plan to replace it ?

(The flush places force in new fluid by a pump... maybe that's your best choice come to think of it.)
