Trans in trouble? maybe?

ive got a 92 4x4 explorer xlt. with around 123,000 miles on the original motor and trans. My problem is that when i start the car and put it in reverse it puts and jerks and misses for about 2-3 seconds before begining to work fine. what is this? does this sound like i might need a rebuild soon? any help from you guys would be great, thanks.

The low/reverse servo O ring is shot. If you feel comfortable removing the pan, this is an easy home project. Just four bolts after you remove the filter. Procedure is spelled out in "low/reverse servo" located somewhere in this mess of 50 posts. Page 2 or 3.This thread is located at:
