Well, at 112k the transmission needed to be rebuilt due to harsh shifting and bucking. The shifting was 3-7 where jolts and hard shifts/bangs were being felt. And sometimes when starting off from a stop it would buck like a 1st time manual trans driver.

Brought it to my local lincoln dealership as they have the best customer service and they replaced the valve body, found some internal damage to the tune of $1,800 thank you ESP). Got the car back after a week and it was still shifting badly. Brought it back the next day and they transferred it to the local Ford dealer for an overhaul.

Found a TSB on the early 2020s that talked about clutch pack A. They performed the TSB rrmoving torque converter and replacing the clutch pack and a bunch of other internal parts and got it back a few days ago with 12 quarts of fresh fluid.

Drives better then brand new. The overhaul was another $3,400 all covered under my premium care.

Also have now had all 4 tire pressure sensors replaced under ESP in the last month or so.

Definitely ahead of the game on just this repair alone now.

Bonus, we earn Ford pass points on ESP claims lol, so scored $250 in points.

Yes I noticed my $100 deductible earns FordPass rewards points!

It's not the deductible. You get the points on the total cost of the repair. I earned points on the $5,400 it cost to do the trans repair because the ESP paid it, not the factory warranty.

On my 2 ESP repairs it was only on the deductible. I recently bought 4 new tires, I earned 21,000 reward points plus received a $100 rebate Visa card. So how many points did you get on the 5400, maybe like 63,000 points?

Rounding, 19,000 on the $1,800 repair (valve body replacement) and 37,000 on the $3,400 repair (trans overhaul).

The 10,000 was the first dealer giving me my deductible back in points to use at the 2nd dealer so I didn't have to pay twice.

Does your service history show the cost of the repair or just the deductible? Mine shows the cost of repair.

Just an update.

After reviewing my paperwork, I noticed they replaced my starter as well. It was noted something along the lines of "customers stated noise when starting vehicle, verified concern, found starter not engaging fully and teeth were broken off".

I never experienced any such noise but imagine they found it when doing the overhaul and added it to the work order.

Dont think anyone here has had a starter fail or need to be replaced yet.

Wow. We have been really blessed with out 2016 Platinum. It's coming up on 260K miles and the transmission still works great.

Just curious if you had any water pump issues during that time. The 2025 has an external one.

That’s because it’s a real transmission not this EPA 10 speed garbage. It’s sad that a trans needs a rebuild at 100k. All of Ford’s 10 speeds are junk as of now. Hopefully it gets better. Head over to the F150 forum. People have them go out at 30k miles.

Mine was rebuilt at 25K miles. So far so good now at 62K miles!

I had to replace the water pump at around 200K miles. $5,000 to do the pump, timing chains, cam phasers and related parts

Holy crap. My dealer quoted me $3500 to do that job. A local mechanic should be less. That’s an insane price.

I agree and even both service managers had stated that the 10s were not the greatest. Mine fell within an early date range of the 2020s specifically so they knew something may happen with the part design and changed it.
