Ok so a few months ago i heard grinding coming from my car. I replaced the hub assembly and that did not help. Replaced my cv joint and the grinding was still there. And now just recently my car decided to stop while driving and not go into gear. My car does not move when in drive or reverse...only when in shift it to the 2 gear. I thought maybe the cv joint was put in wrong but that didnt help and i spun my wheel again and noticed the grinding seems to be coming from the trans? Is my trans gone or could it be a worn out axel joint i believe the part is called? (The part that connects cv joint to the drivetrain)...i was just confused because only the 2 gear works. Thanks

Unfortunately the transmission is probably done. The cv joints have more of a clunking sound and every thing else you have described leads me to think the transmission is the culprit.
If you already have high miles on the truck it is probably worth getting it rebuilt or having a remanufactured unit installed

Was there any change in how the truck drove or shifted? It sounds like it could be the trans but it's hard to say with only a screeching sound. Did it screech when shifting, turning, or just normal driving?

While driving normally. Whenever my wheels spun it caused a grinding noise and whenever i would try to accelerate from 40 the gear would not shift up and my engine would just rev up for a few seconds and then finally catch on
