Hey, little help here (probably belongs in a different forum, but...)
1999 explorer 4x4, automatic, about 125xxx miles. was having some problems in the past with the transmission (hard shifting, slipping until pressures got up, i'm guessing). found it to be low on fluid. added fluid and it seemed to do the trick for a while. within the last week, though, i am having a very hard time getting the transmission to engage in drive (reverse is no problem). looked like it was a little low on fluid (fluid still showed on stick, but not to the cross hatches). any place else i can look before i bite the bullet?
any help would be seriously appreciated. can't afford tranny work right now
