Hello, I was hoping maybe you all could help. I have a 1995 Explorer which will not shift into overdrive, and the "OD OFF" light flashes. Someone suggested I find the trouble codes, which I did. Just as a piece of information, I have the kind of Explorer that does not have a shift position for drive and then overdrive - there's a button on the end of the shifter that turns overdrive off.

KOEO:
335
- EGR feedback signal is/was out of range - EVR or PFE
What's EGR?

CM:
628
- Excessive converter clutch slippage - Transmissions

KOER:
336
- PFE sensor signal is/was was high - ">PFE
What's PFE?
632 - E4OD - Transmission Control Switch (TCS) should be cycled once between engine ID and Goose test
Does this mean I need to push the button on the end of the shifter?

As a little bit of extra information, a couple different people had the idea that maybe the problem was a short in the wire going from the button on the shifter to the column, causing the computer to freak out with the repeated "on/off" state of overdrive. Thinking that was possible, I did some research and found out how to disconnect the wire from the column, reset the codes (did paperclip test, pulled wires while key was on), and that turned the "OD OFF" light off, but soon after driving, the light came back on.
