i bought a 94 explorer 4x4 auto the other day and it wont shift. the fluid is brown(prolly toasted). i was wondering how hard it would be for me to rebuild it myself. i have done standard trans before, but never worked on a ford trans.(gm guy) i think it's the a4ld? is it possible to swap to a manual trans or is the rebuild more economical?
yhe previous owner performed a bodylift and said it hasnt worked since.
sorry if i asked some dumb questions, still kind of new to fords
