Hey guys,
I've been having a rubbing/grinding noise coming from what sounds like the front and sounds like it's in the center of the vehicle between passenger and drivers side. It has the resemblance of brakes scrubbing a warped rotor (new pad, calipers and rotors) and is really noticeable at lower speeds when coasting. Buddy of mine and I were talking and he mentioned maybe it was the transfer case or U Joints. So I took it out last night put it in 4 hi and accelerated and coasted to see if I could hear the grinding and I didn't notice it . However when I went to turn with it in 4hi I would hear a loud and noticeable pop and it felt like it was binding a little, which is leaning me toward the u joint. He also suggested draining the transfer case and looking for metal shavings to make sure the case wasn't cooked. Any thoughts or ideas??
