OK,
I was reading all the posts on this subject and I still did not get a straight answer...
I want to drain the ATF from the converter in my 2004 Explorer AWD
In my F150 there is a rubber plug that allows access to the converter drain plug. Not in my explorer.
Can I disconnect the oil cooler hose and crank the engine so it pumps out the old ATF ?
I am dropping the pan to replace the filter.
I have about 13qts that is what the manual says it takes to fill the tranny.
Do I fill it up in intervals thru the inner drain plug ? Crank shift fill more ?
Can someone advise ?
I believe my transmission has a filler plug on its side above the exhaust, but as usual it is kind of unacceptable.
Any tips ?
Thanks.
