TRANSMISSION Change HELP!!!

Getting ready to change the transmission on my 93 xlt, looking for a procedure or somebody's step by step. can anyone help? It is automatic

take photos, refer to manual, get ramps, use trans. jack, label all bolts and get ready for fluid to leak out.

better to be ready and have plastic down.

and do a search on this forum first.
 






Yeah I'd get a Chiltons or a Haynes manual, they go over the transmission removal step by step. Plus most of the time, they'll have the proper torque settings on most bolts/nuts.
 






it's not hard and to save time if...big word is if you can put the transmission out with the transfer case makes things a whole heck of a lot easier. also make sure to blast those y- pipe bolts with some pb blaster so you can get them off with out breaking bolts...oh and do that to the cat too. all in all if this is your first time, depending on skill level, it should take no more than a couple hours to get it out.
 






if ya really want to try and shortcut it, the tranny will come out without taking the exhaust/y pipe down. its a really tight fit, but it will work
