Transmission Clarification

Can someone clarify this for me. On my door tag it says TR: V so wouldnt that mean I have the 5R55S transmission. The dealer told me that I do not have a 5R55S, that these transmissions were mated to the 8cyl. I have an 03 Explorer 4.0V6 3.55 Rear

You have a 5R55S. Early model year 02 used the w transmission.

Thats what I thought, is this what all the 03-05 V6's use, and what about the 8cyls

In 2004, only ONE auto. trans. was used in Explorer: 5R55S. Both engines. No other trans. is shown in the Ford Shop Manual.

Please be aware, this is 2004 ONLY; other years might be different.
