All: Just purchased an 08 XLT and was wondering if anyone has purchased and had installed the auxillary transmission cooler? Would like the part number and the cost you paid to have it installed. I like to put on auxillary cooler on all my new vehicles, even though I dont tow, because in my experience it seems to increase tranny life. Appreciate opinions and whther the 5 spd auto is stout enough without one. Thx>>AJ

XLT, I'm not sure of the Ford part #, but I'd recommend picking up an auxillary cooler at any parts store like advance or auto zone. Much cheaper than the Ford cooler, I guarantee it, and the install is easy. Find a mounting spot, attach the hoses, add some more tranny fluid.

Buy the OEM type of cooler, the sandwich type instead of the rows of tubes etc.

I suggest a valve body kit if they make one for your trans, those add more life than other things. Welcome,
