- 1998 Ford Explorer
Hi everyone! I just bought a 1996 Ford Explorer 4.0 with 105,000 miles that is in pretty descent shape. My problem is whenever i put it in drive it takes like 3 or 4 seconds to engage and I'm not sure why. The fluid is a nice pink color although it does look like it was overfilled a little. Once it engages it shifts just fine. No hesitation and no slips. is there a vacuum modulator or something like that that can be replaced? I don't think the tranny is bad but I would like to get this fixed. Any ideas would be appreciated
